

Knowledge of Perspective and Proportions.This will be rated using the following criteria. This must be demonstrated in the applicants online Demo Reel/Portfolio. Candidates applying for the 3D animation training must have a working knowledge of Autodesk Maya, modelling and animation skills. Candidates applying for 2D animation training must have a working knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony, rigging and animation skills. Quality of Online Demo Reel/Portfolio – This should be a sample of applicants best work.Essays will be scored on a rating scale 0 – 10 0 being the lowest and 10 being the highest score. Quality of essay –The essay must be 500 – 800 words stating the reasons for applying for this scholarship, applicants’ aspirations, and the areas of animation that the applicant wishes to specialize in.The YEDAI Project will notify the forty (40) highest ranking candidates with an offer of a scholarship to the selected programme.

The results are sent back to the YEDAI Project. This will be based on the quality of essays and online Demo-Reels/Portfolios.

Eligible applications will progress to step 2.Ī panel of three (3) local experts will assess the eligible applications using the shortlisting criteria and create a shortlist of eighty (80) applicants for each training path.Īpplications from eighty (80) shortlisted candidates are submitted to Toon Boom and AnimSchool for final selection. Applicants must choose EITHER the 2D animation training scholarship track OR the 3D animation scholarship track – Not both.Īll applications will be reviewed against eligibility requirements. The selection process is a competitive one, as such applicants are encouraged to present only their very best work within the field for which they are applying. For individuals currently enrolled in an animation training programme, please provide proof of enrollment (student ID, proof payment, letter of acceptance, etc.)Ģ. Submit an essay of 500 to 800 words stating the reasons for applying for the scholarship as well as the applicant’s aspirations and areas of interest for specializationġ.Submit a link to an online demo reel and/or portfolio.Official certificate/transcript for the animation certificate/degree programme that they are/were enrolled in.Submit ANY ONE of the following documentation (not ALL of them):.Completed an international animation training course.completed a training course offered by either the YEDAI project or World Bank Korean Trust Fund (KTF) OR.a graduate of an animation programme OR.Applicants must have had prior training in animation.Be a Jamaican citizen (or permanent resident) and resident in Jamaica.Complete and submit their own application.If an applicant does not satisfy all of these criteria, they may be removed from the competitive selection process.
